Lotti

Carrozzeria Lotti belonged to a Florentine family tradition of carriage making and automobile coachwork. Corrado Lotti was active as a racing driver, dealer and coachbuilder in the early 1920s. AISA records his involvement with Ansaldo cars and identifies the Excelsior garage associated with him as the builder of sporting bodies used in competition in 1923.

The State Archives of Florence record the incorporation of Carrozzeria Lotti, a joint-stock company, on 21 June 1926 under company register number 4242. Its stated business comprised the repair and construction of automobile bodies and related trade. This is a documented legal incorporation date; it should not be confused with the earlier coachbuilding activity of the Lotti family.
