01 / THE STORY

History & context

The Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato emerged from a collaboration between Zagato and Lamborghini, conceived with the intention of creating a vehicle that would appreciate in value over time. Unveiled at the prestigious Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance, the name “5-95” symbolizes both the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini and the 95th anniversary of the Milanese coachbuilder Zagato. This bespoke creation is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4, a model pivotal in Lamborghini’s evolution from niche manufacturer to a major player in the automotive industry. Constructed entirely from carbon fiber, the 5-95 embodies the essence of an “instant classic” — a rare and captivating car destined to be a collector’s item from its inception. The design, influenced by Zagato’s distinctive style, features a rounded silhouette with a signature rounded roof, reminiscent of classic Zagato coachwork. Elements from Lamborghini’s heritage, such as the oval air intake inspired by the Lamborghini Raptor concept, are seamlessly integrated into the design, adding to its allure and uniqueness. Commissioned by entrepreneur and avid collector Albert Spiess, a devoted fan of Lamborghini, the 5-95 Zagato represents a fusion of Italian craftsmanship and automotive excellence. Its debut at Villa d’Este showcased its exclusivity and craftsmanship, garnering admiration from enthusiasts and collectors alike. This collaboration between Zagato and Lamborghini exemplifies their shared commitment to creating automotive masterpieces that combine cutting-edge technology with timeless design. In essence, the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato is not just a car but a symbol of automotive artistry and innovation. It captures the spirit of two legendary brands and stands as a testament to their enduring partnership in the pursuit of automotive perfection.
