Fiat 1100 Scioneri

The Fiat 1100 Berlina (1960) was coachbuilt by Scioneri. The development of the Fiat 1100 model line during the late 1940s and 1950s signified a crucial phase in the evolution of Fiat’s compact cars, integrating modern styling with practical design. The coachbuilding process undertaken by Scioneri involved meticulous attention to proportions and construction methods, incorporating streamlined forms that were reflective of the era’s aesthetic preferences.

Mechanically, the Fiat 1100 Berlina featured a robust chassis designed to accommodate a range of body styles, with its suspension system enhancing ride comfort and handling. Documentation indicates that the vehicle was equipped with a well-engineered drivetrain configuration, although specific engine details are not provided. The production phase saw the vehicle being offered in limited numbers, which contributes to its historical significance within Fiat’s model lineup.

Exhibitions highlighted the Fiat 1100 Berlina’s design and engineering innovations, and surviving examples are recorded in both private collections and museum archives. This documentation serves as a valuable resource for researchers and historians studying postwar coachbuilding and Fiat’s contributions to automotive design.
