Pininfarina brings heritage and future vision to Milan Design Week 2026

April 13, 2026

Milan, 13 April 2026 – Pininfarina has unveiled an extensive programme for Milan Design Week 2026, reinforcing its position as one of the leading names in international design through a series of exhibitions, panels and exclusive events that connect heritage, innovation and future vision.

From 20 to 26 April, the Italian design house will take part in the exhibition “10 Years of Open-Air Motor Shows”, hosted at Via Tortona 35, where two landmark vehicles will be on display: the Pininfarina Battista Nino Farina and the Honda HP-X.

The exhibition celebrates the format created by Andrea Levy, who since 2015 has brought open-air automotive shows to Turin, Milan and Monza, transforming iconic public spaces into a stage for car culture and design.

At the centre of Pininfarina’s display will be the Battista Nino Farina, a highly exclusive edition of the electric hyper GT inspired by Nino Farina, the first Formula 1 World Champion. Finished in a distinctive Rosso Nino livery with Glorioso Gold detailing and the iconic “01” decal, the model combines extreme performance with refined design, delivering 1,900 hp and record-level acceleration figures.

Alongside this modern icon, visitors will also see the Honda HP-X, the revolutionary concept car originally developed with Honda in 1984 and recently restored at the Pininfarina workshops in Cambiano. Widely regarded as a precursor to the legendary Honda NSX, the HP-X stood out for its wedge-shaped design, advanced aerodynamic solutions and pioneering use of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre and Kevlar.

On 21 April, Pininfarina will also headline one of the key moments of the week at Terrazza Martini, taking part in the Car Design Dialogues organised by Car Design News. The exclusive panel, titled “Vision to Form: at the Heart of Pininfarina Design”, will feature CEO Paolo Dellachà, Head of Exterior Design Dimitri Vicedomini, and Chief Creative Designer Tigran Lalayan, alongside contributions from the design team in Shanghai.

The discussion will offer an inside look at the company’s creative process, exploring how concepts evolve into final forms through the interaction of different cultures, disciplines and design expertise.

Developed for JAS Motorsport, the JAS Tensei marks the company’s first high-performance road car. Inspired by the first-generation Honda NSX and reinterpreted as a contemporary Gran Turismo, the project combines Pininfarina’s design language with JAS Motorsport’s racing expertise.

JAS TENSEI NSX PININFARINA

The name “Tensei”, meaning “rebirth” in Japanese, reflects the philosophy behind the car, which will feature a full carbon-fibre body built on a 1990s Honda NSX platform and integrate technical solutions directly derived from motorsport. The result is described as a balance between respect for the original model’s DNA and a forward-looking approach to design and technology.

The JAS Tensei will then move to the 15th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, scheduled from 24 to 26 April, where it will be showcased during a dedicated event for clients, VIPs and media. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the Pininfarina design team, including Vicedomini, Lalayan, and Senior Design Manager Raffaele Gerace, and gain further insight into the development of what is already being positioned as a future icon.

Back in Milan, on the evening of 21 April, the Battista Nino Farina will temporarily leave the Via Tortona exhibition to make a special journey through the city streets to the Brera district, where it will be the centrepiece of a private event hosted at the showroom of Reflex, a long-standing Pininfarina client in the product design sector.

Over the years, the collaboration between Pininfarina and Reflex has resulted in numerous indoor and outdoor furniture collections, all characterised by the same principles that define the company’s automotive design philosophy: purity of lines, innovation and meticulous attention to detail.

With this multifaceted presence, Pininfarina once again confirms its central role in the global design landscape, bringing to Milan a narrative that spans past, present and future, and reaffirming its unique ability to transform vision into form.
