MAUTO to Celebrate Aldo Brovarone with New Exhibition in Turin

The Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin will open a new exhibition dedicated to Aldo Brovarone, one of the most distinctive figures in post-war Italian automotive design.
Titled “Aldo Brovarone. La matita di Pininfarina”, the exhibition will be inaugurated at MAUTO on 6 October at 6:30 pm. Curated by Maria Paola Stola Ariusso, it will explore Brovarone’s career through original drawings, photographs, posters and a selection of automobiles connected with his work at Pininfarina.
The exhibition aims to present not only Brovarone’s best-known creations, but also the design process and personal sensitivity behind them. During his long association with Pininfarina, Brovarone contributed to some of the most memorable Italian sports and grand touring cars of the second half of the twentieth century.
Among the highlights will be the remarkable Dino Berlinetta Speciale, one of the landmark experimental designs associated with Brovarone and Pininfarina. According to the organisers, the car will return to Italy for the exhibition after 61 years

Presented in 1965, the Dino Berlinetta Speciale became an important step in the development of the visual language that would soon characterise Ferrari’s mid-engined Dino production cars. Its low nose, flowing surfaces and strongly sculpted proportions made it one of the most recognisable Pininfarina prototypes of the period.
Through Brovarone’s drawings and surviving material, the MAUTO exhibition will offer an opportunity to examine the designer beyond the finished automobiles: the evolution of an idea from pencil sketch to three-dimensional form, and the relationship between individual creativity and the broader Pininfarina design tradition.
“Aldo Brovarone. La matita di Pininfarina” opens on 6 October 2026 at 18:30 at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin.
