Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport Reimagine the Iconic NSX

The legendary Honda NSX is set to return in a modern, limited-series interpretation thanks to a new collaboration between JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina. The project marks the debut of JAS’s first high-performance road car and brings the spirit of the 1990 NSX into a new era of design, technology, and craftsmanship.
According to both companies, development is progressing on schedule, and the first fully functional prototype is now entering the “body fitting” phase at JAS Motorsport’s atelier in Arluno (Milan). The car, designed by Pininfarina, will be built in a limited production run and handcrafted by JAS — a company best known for its long-standing role in Honda’s official motorsport programs across touring cars, endurance racing, and GT competitions.
A Carbon-Fibre Body and Competition-Derived Engineering
The reborn NSX will use a 1990s NSX donor car as its base — either left- or right-hand drive, depending on market — and will receive a complete carbon-fibre body designed by Pininfarina. The mechanical components will feature motorsport-derived technology, reflecting JAS Motorsport’s engineering expertise.

Pininfarina’s design for the project aims to reinterpret the timeless proportions and purpose of the original NSX, blending functional aerodynamics with refined Italian aesthetics. Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned while retaining the original NSX philosophy of direct connection between driver and car. The restyled cockpit integrates modern ergonomics and materials while maintaining the analog purity that defined the 1990s icon.
Naturally Aspirated V6 and Manual Transmission
Power comes from a naturally aspirated V6 engine inspired by the original NSX unit. The new engine has been specifically engineered for high power, torque, and responsiveness, and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission to deliver a focused and emotional driving experience.
Further details — including the car’s name, technical specifications, and production numbers — will be revealed in the coming months. JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina plan to present the finished project during the first half of 2026.
