01 / THE STORY
History & context
The Alfa Romeo G.C. (Ginevra) emerges as a distinctive two-door, two-seater custom body crafted on the foundation of an Alfa Romeo chassis with rear-wheel drive. Transitioning from its code name “Ginevra,” the car acquires a personalized identity – G.C., derived from the owner’s initials. This nomenclature, to be engraved on the car doors post the Geneva exhibition in the 1930s, adds a touch of individuality. Sporting a sleek two-door coupé design, the G.C. stands out on the rear-wheel-drive Alfa Romeo chassis. Under its hood, the car houses Alfa’s potent 3.2-liter V6 engine, delivering an impressive 260bhp at 6,600rpm, coupled with a Selespeed gearbox for optimal performance. The G.C. boasts dimensions of 4168mm in length, 1728mm in width, 1280mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2513mm. Adhering to the esteemed Carrozzeria Castagna tradition, the car’s design features sharp lines that skillfully emphasize volume treatment. The front fascia showcases a distinctive Castagna emblem, reminiscent of the 1930s. The body’s contouring, marked by line cuts, integrates new LED main beams, enabling the coachbuilder to introduce innovative design elements. The G.C. is equipped with 245/40 tires at the front and 275/35 tires at the rear, contributing to its dynamic stance. With its personalized name, powerful engine, and meticulous design, the Alfa Romeo Ginevra. exemplifies the craftsmanship and attention to detail synonymous with Carrozzeria Castagna. As it embraces a new era, this two-seater coupé not only pays homage to its heritage but also sets a standard for automotive elegance and performance.
