Davide Loris Amantea Named Chief Creative Officer of Pininfarina

August 7, 2026

Pininfarina has appointed Davide Loris Amantea as its new Chief Creative Officer, marking a significant change at the top of the company’s design organisation.

Effective from August 2026, Amantea will report directly to CEO Paolo Dellachà and will be responsible for defining and developing Pininfarina’s overall creative vision. Alongside the new corporate role, he will also take responsibility for Mobility Design within the company’s Mobility Business Unit, with a functional reporting line to Marco Busi.

The appointment brings one of the most prominent figures from Automobili Pininfarina into a broader role across the Pininfarina organisation.

Amantea joined Automobili Pininfarina in 2018 and progressively moved through senior design positions before becoming Chief Design Officer. During that period, he was closely involved in some of the brand’s most important recent projects, including the Battista electric hyper GT, the Pura Vision concept and the open-top B95.

His career, however, extends well beyond Automobili Pininfarina. Before joining the company, Amantea gained experience across Europe and Asia through positions with Fiat Group, Italdesign, Jaguar Land Rover and NIO.

Born in Turin, he studied at the G.B. Pininfarina Technical Institute before continuing his education at IED Torino. His professional path has since combined automotive design, product strategy and advanced mobility programmes, giving him experience across both established manufacturers and younger technology-driven companies.

His work has also gained international recognition. In 2023, Amantea was included in Bloomberg’s “50 Ones to Watch” selection, while in 2025 Automotive News Europe named him a “Design Rising Star”.

The timing of the appointment is particularly symbolic for Pininfarina. Amantea will make one of his first major public appearances in the new role during Monterey Car Week, alongside Paolo Dellachà.

The pair will take part in Duetto Day, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Spider “Duetto”, and will also serve as Honorary Judges at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. There, they will present the Pininfarina Trophy to what is judged to be the most beautiful Pininfarina-designed car in the concours.

The changes extend beyond the Chief Creative Officer appointment.

Guglielmo Cartia will take charge of Pininfarina’s newly established Heritage department, created to oversee the preservation, development and promotion of the company’s historical archive and vehicle collection.

Cartia will report to Amantea while continuing to support the Chief Creative Officer as an advisor to the Mobility Design team.

The new structure places contemporary design and historical heritage under closely connected leadership, an increasingly important consideration for a company whose future work continues to draw heavily on nearly a century of design history.

For Pininfarina, Amantea’s appointment therefore represents more than a change of title. It brings mobility design, creative direction and heritage closer together at a time when the company is expanding its activities across automotive design, bespoke mobility and other luxury sectors.
