01 / THE STORY
History & context
The Lancia Aurelia B50 Coupé Boneschi, unveiled at the 1951 Turin Motor Show, is a true gem of Italian craftsmanship and automotive history. Originally presented in a sophisticated black exterior with cream leather interior, this one-of-a-kind car immediately captured the attention of the public for its stunning design and impeccable styling (already seen on the Fiat 1400 Gazzella). The vehicle was the result of Carrozzeria Boneschi‘s skilled work, combining classic elegance with a modern flair that was typical of the Italian coachbuilding renaissance. In an interesting turn of events, after 17 years, Boneschi himself reacquired the car, taking the opportunity to repaint it in a rich and distinctive amaranto (maroon) color, complementing it with a refined beige woolen interior. This transformation gave the car a fresh, updated look that further highlighted the timeless design and attention to detail. The car’s journey continued when, 25 years later, it was purchased by the father of the current owner, a Fiat dealer, who added it to his esteemed collection. This significant history of ownership further solidifies the Lancia Aurelia B50 Coupé Boneschi’s status as an iconic automobile, with each chapter in its life contributing to its mystique and value. Today, this unique car remains a remarkable example of Italian coachbuilding from the 1950s, a period during which designers like Boneschi helped shape the future of automotive aesthetics. With its captivating history and timeless design, the Lancia Aurelia B50 Coupé Boneschi is a cherished piece of automotive heritage, evoking the golden era of luxury automobiles.
