01 / THE STORY

History & context

The Bizzarrini Giotto, named after the esteemed engineer and company founder Giotto Bizzarrini, represents a harmonious blend of past and present automotive excellence. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, alongside his son Fabrizio at GFG Style in Turin, Italy, this supercar pays homage to the legendary Bizzarrini 5300 GT, a project on which a young Giugiaro had contributed while at Bertone over 60 years ago. This spiritual successor, The Giotto, boasts a bespoke carbon fiber body that seamlessly merges beauty, performance, and usability. Giugiaro’s subtle refinements evoke elements of the most iconic Bizzarrinis, with notable design cues such as the dual bonnet vents and triangular B-pillar reimagined for the modern era. The sleek profile of The Giotto, accentuated by the rear windscreen gracefully cascading onto the wheel arches, exudes a predatory stance befitting its rear-mid-engined configuration. Underneath its elegant exterior lies the exclusive Bizzarrini V12 engine, developed in collaboration with Cosworth. With a capacity of 6626cc, paying homage to Giotto Bizzarrini’s birthdate, this naturally aspirated powerplant promises to deliver unparalleled engagement and drivability while meeting global regulatory standards. Aerodynamic efficiency, a hallmark of Bizzarrini’s design philosophy, is achieved through a Formula One-derived front splitter, rear diffuser, and an integrated fixed rear wing, ensuring optimal downforce across all driving conditions. The construction of The Giotto mirrors Bizzarrini’s ethos of pushing engineering boundaries, employing the latest lightweight materials and top-tier motorsport-inspired manufacturing processes. Led by Bizzarrini CTO Chris Porritt, whose technical expertise spans Aston Martin, Tesla, Apple, and Rimac, the engineering program prioritizes emotional engagement over mere performance metrics. Complementing Porritt’s leadership are CEO Ian Fenton and CCO Julian Jenkins, both bringing decades of experience from leading luxury automotive brands. Scheduled to commence on-road testing in late 2024, The Giotto promises to redefine the supercar landscape with its fusion of heritage, innovation, and uncompromising craftsmanship. As the embodiment of Giotto Bizzarrini’s enduring legacy, it represents a tribute to his visionary spirit and relentless pursuit of automotive excellence.
