01 / THE STORY
The Aspark Owl is an all-electric hypercar developed by the Japanese engineering firm Aspark and built in Italy by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT). Conceived with the objective of achieving the fastest acceleration ever recorded for a production vehicle, development began in 2018 following its concept debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The final production version was unveiled at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show. Production is limited to 50 units, each priced at approximately €2.5 million. The structure of the Owl centers on a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis weighing 120 kilograms, reinforced with a stainless steel support integrated into the roof for additional rigidity. The bodywork, also made entirely from carbon fiber, was redesigned from the concept to include aerodynamic refinements such as an active rear wing, side mirrors, and revised glazing. The vehicle measures 4,792 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,000 mm in height, maintaining an extremely low stance with a total mass of around 1,900 kilograms. The Owl is powered by four electric motors—one per wheel—producing a combined output of 1,953 horsepower and 1,920 newton-meters of torque. This system allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in 1.69 seconds, 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds, and 0 to 299 km/h in 10.6 seconds, with a top speed of 400 km/h. Energy is supplied by a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 69 kWh operating at 800 volts, providing a range of up to 450 kilometers. The chassis features double wishbone suspension with hydraulic dampers and active ride height adjustment. Torque vectoring distributes power across all four wheels for optimized traction. Braking is managed by carbon-ceramic discs with 10-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. In 2024, Aspark introduced the 600SP, an extreme evolution of the Owl, which broke the world speed record for an electric hypercar.
