Borsani

Carrozzeria Borsani was a Milanese coachbuilding business associated with Gaetano Borsani. Its history predates the Borsani name: according to the specialist historical account recorded in the CI 2.0 research archive, Borsani took over the Bulli coachbuilding concern on 1 September 1922. The workshop subsequently adopted the Carrozzeria Borsani identity in 1933.

These dates describe two distinct stages in the firm’s history, rather than competing foundation dates. The continuity of the business can be traced to the earlier takeover, while 1933 marks the adoption of the Borsani name. Further documentary research is required to define the workshop’s complete bodywork output and its relationships with individual vehicle manufacturers.
