Caterham Project V

The Caterham Project V has not yet been unveiled, but there is one interesting detail about the British marque’s next coupé: it will not be produced in the UK, but in Italy. It was Italdesign, the Turin-based company founded by the famous designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and now owned by the Volkswagen group, that revealed the production location in a brief press release detailing the collaboration between the two companies.

Two-way collaboration “Italdesign continues to draw on its vast and long-standing experience in manufacturing and its ability to provide technical support and know-how to bring visions to life,” said the company now headed by Antonio Casu in a brief statement, adding that the new electric concept will be unveiled on 12 July and make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the following day: “It is the result of a two-way collaboration of philosophies and commitments between Caterham and Italdesign. Created by Caterham’s Chief Designer, Anthony Jannarelly, and characterised by a completely new design language for the British sports car brand, the lightweight, high-performance Project V show car is produced by Italdesign in its factories in Italy.
