THE STORY

Overview

Carrozzeria Fratelli Solaro was a Turin-based coachbuilder active in the early twentieth century. Specialist coachbuilder chronologies date the establishment of the firm to 1906 and identify a Fiat-bodied motor car in 1910, although the original incorporation record has not yet been established.

Period material preserved by coachbuilding researchers documents Solaro’s activity during the 1910s and 1920s, including coachwork on Italian chassis such as Aquila and Itala. The dates reported for the firm’s foundation and closure remain subject to verification against contemporary company records.
