THE STORY

Overview

Pilade and Flavio Garella operated a coachwork workshop in Turin, documented from the second half of the 1930s. Initially involved in the manufacture of body components and accessories, the business also undertook gas-producer conversions during the fuel shortages of the Second World War. In the post-war period it supplied unfinished bodies to other firms.

Specialist literature associates the workshop with the Cisitalia 202 SMM of 1947. The identification of individual surviving cars and photographs remains disputed, so this attribution should be reviewed on a chassis-by-chassis basis. The workshop is reported to have closed around 1948. No exact foundation or closure date is established.
