Italdesign EVX

The Italdesign EVX is a compact 2+2 coupé conceived as a proportion study to explore the versatility of the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric platform. Presented in holographic form at IAA Munich 2025, the EVX is not destined for production but was developed to showcase how Italdesign’s design and engineering expertise can push the boundaries of proportion and volume studies on modular architectures. Measuring 4.23 meters in length, 1.82 meters in width and 1.49 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.6 meters, the EVX proposes dimensions that balance compact urban usability with a sporty and aspirational character. Its three-door layout reinforces the coupé identity, while the 2+2 seating configuration provides a blend of practicality and style that appeals to younger audiences seeking lifestyle-oriented electric vehicles. Underneath, the car is imagined around the MEB+ platform in a front-wheel-drive configuration, which is part of the Volkswagen Group’s next-generation urban EV family. While no performance data or drivetrain details have been specified, Italdesign approached the project with the same discipline applied to its production programs, ensuring that every proportion and surface respects technical feasibility. The aluminum and steel modular underpinnings provide scalable opportunities for various markets, highlighting Italdesign’s focus on adaptability for both Volkswagen brands and external OEMs. The EVX concept also reflects Italdesign’s philosophy of coupling visionary design with practical engineering.
