01 / THE STORY
History & context
The Icona Vulcano Titanium is an extraordinary one-off creation that exemplifies the pinnacle of Italian design and engineering. Building on the foundation of the original Vulcano, this unique iteration is crafted with a body made entirely of titanium and carbon fibera world first in automotive design. Produced as a single example, the Vulcano Titanium commands a striking presence and an equally impressive price of 2.4 million euros. Under the hood lies a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine sourced from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Tuned to perfection, it delivers a formidable 670 PS (493 kW; 661 hp) and 820 N?m (605 lb?ft) of torque. This powerhouse allows the Vulcano Titanium to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 355 km/h (221 mph). Engineered by Claudio Lombardi and his team at Icona Group, the car’s performance is managed through a short-gear semi-automated paddle-shift gearbox from Modena, ensuring power is both exhilarating and accessible. The design of the Vulcano Titanium is a seamless blend of beauty and beast. Its sculpted titanium and carbon fiber bodywork is a masterpiece, showcasing voluptuous and harmonious lines that exude both elegance and aggression. This artistry, paired with the cutting-edge performance, creates a vehicle that feels as powerful as it looks. The interior of the Vulcano Titanium further underscores its exclusivity and craftsmanship. Highlights include a modified Ferrari 458 steering wheel, a TFT display for the instrument cluster, a vertically oriented TFT display for the infotainment system, and a series of toggle switches that add a tactile, aviation-inspired touch. The seats, made by Sabelt, ensure comfort and support while maintaining a focus on lightweight design. The Icona Vulcano Titanium stands as a symbol of automotive excellencea fusion of groundbreaking materials, unparalleled engineering, and a design philosophy that celebrates both form and function. With its perfect balance of raw power and refined luxury, it represents the ultimate in bespoke automotive craftsmanship.
